INVEST South/West

Syzygy Cities has been an active participant in Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s INVEST South/West initiative, a $750 Million effort to bring development to historically disinvested and underserved neighborhoods on the South and West sides. Partnering with local Minority developers, Syzygy Cities has helped design innovative program concepts to revitalize these communities with commercial activity, educational programs, and sustainable building efforts.

  • South Chicago - Galleria 89

    Selected as the winner for the South Chicago RFP, our proposal for “Galleria 89” centers around the creation of an arts plaza showcasing work by local creatives, and involves a connected community cafe, business center, mix of affordable and market rate housing, and retail opportunities.

  • Bronzeville - The Village

    In partnership with Milhouse Engineering & Construction, Syzygy Cities helped design a robust program that included over 15 women-owned businesses from a variety of sectors to create a new hub of housing, retail and entertainment in the up-and-coming neighborhood.

  • Austin - Soul City STEAM Center

    Syzygy Cities designed a proposed program that reimagined the historic Laramie State Bank site as a co-operative model for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) education organizations, housed under one roof, alongside sustainable housing and Minority-owned retail.

“Hospitality + Events Fight Back” was a coalition proposal to that addressed Covid-19 health and economic challenges through the cultivation of public-private partnerships and strategic alignment of a cross section of industries impacted by the pandemic, including Hotel, Events, and Healthcare.
